Library Services During COVID-19: Scan Services

Scan Services

Scan Services  - Current YU students, faculty and staff may request limited selections from our print holdings to be scanned via the webform (also below on this page) and will be sent via email.

 

What types of items can be requested for scanning? Items that can be provided via Scan Services include select journal articles and book chapters. 

What is the procedure to request an article or chapter to be scanned?  Please utilize the webform to place a request and it will be sent to your YU email address.

Can I request a scan of pages from a book? Yes, limited selections are available for scan.  

Who can use scan services? These services are limited to current YU students, faculty and staff.

I'd like to request an article or chapter from a work that isn't part of the YU Libraries collection, should I use this webformThe article or chapter might be available in YUFind as part of our electronic resources.  For articles in journals or chapters in books that aren't available at YU, please use our Interlibrary Loan service. 

My professor advised that I have to read an article for class, can I request it here?  If it is a required course reading, the article may be posted on the course Canvas site.

Are the limits to the amount (pages/chapters) I can request via scan services? Yes, there are some limitations.  Library staff will advise if the request exceeds the limits.

 


Scan Services

Enables current faculty, students, and staff to request scans of selected materials from the Hedi Steinberg Library (Beren Campus) and Mendel Gottesman and Pollack Libraries (Wilf Campus).

 

How to Request Materials for Scan :

  1. Search YULIS, the Yeshiva University Libraries catalog, to locate the material you are requesting.
  2. Enter the information on the Scan Services webform  Please note: Include as much information as you have for the material, such as title of the book or journal and chapter, pages and publication information.  
  3. Submit the request.
  4. The requested material will be emailed to you  If follow up is needed, a member of the library staff will make contact.
